Mariana Andrade is a PhD student in Biomedical Sciences – Specialization in Microbiology at Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical (IHMT-NOVA), since 2022. She has a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from IHMT-NOVA and a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from FCT-NOVA.

Since 2023, she has been carrying her PhD work under the scope of an FCT/GHTM doctoral grant (ref. UI/BD/154472/2022).

Main area of interests:

  • Search for new efflux and antibiofilm agents for Staphylococcus
  • Galleria mellonella infection model to study virulence and drug efficacy
