Cross-cutting hub within GHTM, integrating and strengthening data management, analysis, and dissemination across the four research groups.
Its core objective is to enhance data collection, harmonization, and ethical sharing to improve research interoperability and impact. Through a centralized data repository and analytics hub, IHD will support joint studies combining epidemiological, clinical, and molecular datasets, while employing AI, Geographic Information Systems, and advanced visualization tools to interpret disease dynamics and intervention outcomes and translate to digital health.
IHD will promote interdisciplinary initiatives linking molecular, clinical, and policy perspectives. Examples include integrating PRIME and VBD pathogen data with PPS health systems analyses to model resistance and disease spread or combining CTM cohort data with molecular evidence to refine diagnostics and treatment strategies. Regular Data Integration Workshops will align research teams, establish shared priorities, and identify opportunities for innovation.
IHD will lead GHTM’s efforts in science communication, health literacy, vaccine hesitancy prevention (eg. Vax Action) and capacity building. A Science Communication Taskforce will ensure that findings reach policymakers, funders, media, and communities through targeted outputs such as policy briefs, infographics, and data dashboards. Training programs on data governance, open science, and public engagement will build institutional capacity, while a monitoring and evaluation framework will track progress and promote sustainability.
