Bioinformatics Infrastructure
The Bioinformatics Infrastructure — BIOHUB centralizes the genomic sequencing and bioinformatics capacities of GHTM, providing researchers with access to sequencing technologies, computational resources, training, and expert support.
BIOHUB brings together the MinION sequencing platform and a dedicated Linux server environment, supporting the analysis of whole-genome sequencing data and other high-throughput datasets generated across GHTM research projects. The infrastructure provides user guidance, technical supervision, equipment maintenance, and training activities to strengthen bioinformatics capacity within the institution.
Since 2017, BIOHUB has supported researchers working on projects involving viral genomics, arthropod vectors, antimicrobial resistance, fish and wastewater surveillance, and the spatiotemporal analysis of pathogens and vectors. These activities have contributed to projects such as ZIKAlliance, BIOSAFE, and INTEGRATE.
