Tropical Summit 2024: Foreseeing Answers to Global Challenges

November 4, 2024

The First Tropical Summit: Foreseeing Answers to Global Challenges aims to bring together leaders from around the world to address the most pressing tropical issues.

📅 Date: 4 to 8 November 2024
📍 Location: Lisbon Congress Centre

This summit serves as a platform for presenting and discussing research and innovation, products and solutions, case studies, and examples of success and best practices. The diverse geographical and professional backgrounds of the participants will not only stimulate dialogue but also foster the co-creation of tangible solutions capable of achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda in the foreseeable future.

GHTM & IHMT-NOVA have partnered with the Tropical Summit. You can find us in the exhibition hall, as well as in two key sessions of the agenda:

📅 5 November – 14:15 to 16:00
Plenary Session where our Director, Professor Filomeno Fortes, will join a roundtable on Planetary Health.

📅 6 November – 16:30 to 18:00
Session on Global Health and Tropical Medicine, chaired by GHTM Scientific Coordinator, Professor Miguel Viveiros, with participation from Professors Ana Domingos, Henrique Silveira, and Jorge Seixas.

This event is organized by the Tropical College of the University of Lisbon and FARA, under the High Patronage of the President of the Portuguese Republic and with the support of the Government.
