Webinar: “Artificial Intelligence for Global Health: Applications in Education and Research in Portuguese-Speaking Countries”

October 30, 2025

From 11 to 13 November, the webinar “Artificial Intelligence for Global Health: Applications in Education and Research in Portuguese-Speaking Countries” will take place, bringing together participants to reflect and share experiences on the potential and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) in health education and research.

This initiative is co-organised by the IHMT NOVA – Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical, and the School of Nursing, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), gathering students, lecturers, and researchers from Portuguese-speaking countries.

The programme, held entirely online, will begin on 11 November with four parallel training courses.

On 12 and 13 November, the institutional opening session will be conducted by Filomeno Fortes, Director of GHTM | IHMT NOVA and member of IHC-GHTM Research Group, and Simone Pereira, Director of the School of Nursing at UFMG. This will be followed by scientific lectures delivered by experts from various countries, focusing on the central theme of the event.

An excellent opportunity to reflect on and share experiences about the challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence in health education and research. Register now and check out the full program!
