The agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development of the United Nations improves in objective 17 the equity and partnerships to revitalize sustainable development based on a joint commitment between institutions and citizens.
To improve more equity against neglected diseases through knowledge management and its availability in open access to be reused and known from all citizens will contribute to the development of new science, and to the dissemination of new best practices in public health.
The MedTROP project is an IHMT / FIOCRUZ partnership that follows the guidelines of RFI / COHRED in achieving sustainable development objectives and focusing on three axes: i) the management of knowledge produced in the domain of tropical medicine and public health through a directory in open access; ii) health literacy aimed empowering health professionals with research tools and information literacy programs by supporting them in prevention and eradication of tropical diseases; and iii) citizen literacy and communication through communication to citizens of the investigation results and citizen science projects as well as public health information and digital literacy.
