Maria Silva is an Angolan researcher and professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Katyavala Bwila University, Benguela, Angola. She is currently a PhD candidate in Tropical Diseases and Global Health at the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Her research focus is on the epidemiology, genetics and clinical profile of Malaria in pregnant women. Her research project explores the genetic factors of the Plasmodium falciparum parasite and placental biomarkers in placental malaria.
