PhD candidate in Biotechnology and Bioscience at the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon. Master’s degree in Medical Parasitology on 27 November 2018 from the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of the New University of Lisbon. Master’s degree in Nutrition and Food Biotechnology with a specialisation in Food Safety in September 2016 from the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana and a degree in Clinical Analysis and Public Health in August 2013 from the Jean Piaget University of Mozambique. Co-author of three scientific articles. Supervised two final year undergraduate projects. Works in the field of mosquito microbiota.

Novel malaria prevention strategies – exploring the use of bacterial communities (microbiota-based approaches) to control mosquitoes or block parasite transmission.
Insecticide resistance – studying mechanisms of resistance in mosquito populations.
