Isabel Araújo has a PhD in Parasite Biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Institute/Fiocruz, a degree in Biomedicine from the University of Rio de Janeiro, a specialisation in Immunodiagnostics and a master’s degree in Public Health from the National School of Public Health/Fiocruz.

She is a lecturer in the Department of Science and Technology at the University of Cape Verde.

She has experience in Collective Health, with an emphasis on Public Health, working mainly on the following subjects: Cape Verde, HIV/AIDS, epidemiology, molecular biology, immunovirology and health training.

Ongoing Projects:

As PI:

  • RESPIRA CV-   Airway colonization and microbiome in relation to asthma and atopy in children from Cabo Verde. Fundação LaCaixa, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.
  • Study of the etiology of acute respiratory infections in children under 5 years in Cabo Verde –África. WHO Cabo Verde. Aplicant.
