Inês Pereira

Inês Pereira holds a BSc and an MSc in Biomedical Science from Coventry University. During her Master’s studies, she received a Silver Leadership Award, completed a CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice, and worked as a student mentor. Following her Master’s she undertook a six-month internship at the NOVA Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (IHMT-NOVA), where she is currently pursuing her PhD in PhD in Biomedical Sciences.
Inês’s PhD research focuses on repurposing drugs to enhance Neisseria gonorrhoeae treatment through the identification of antibiotic adjuvants using an in silico strategy. In particular, the selected drug candidates target efflux systems in N. gonorrhoeae as a novel approach against antimicrobial resistance.
