In this paper we present a review of the knowledge translation principles and some of the main theoretical-conceptual models of knowledge translation. We also present some grounds for the need for evaluation of the role of research networks in the field of health, as well as the processes of translation and application of the scientific knowledge produced.
Research collaboration networks have an important role in expanding innovation.
The science sector is where the knowledge are having a fast increase. There is evidence that an intense activity of inter-organizations can be a promoter of innovative processes with an impact on the populations health.
It is essential to understand this complex structure of multifaceted activities, namely through the development of evaluative research, whose results will enable institutions improving their performance and knowledge translation.
