“Ciência Viva no Laboratório” is an annual summer internship programme, aiming to promote the experimental teaching of science and foster the attraction of young people to scientific careers.
This year, between June 24th and September 6th, Portuguese students had the opportunity to experience day-to-day scientific research and innovation in a real context, and to improve their scientific knowledge through internships in Research Units and companies with R&D, contributing to decision-making in their professional future.
In the 28th edition, GHTM members contributed for this diversified program with three internships, named:
- “Helminths around us! Come and find the helminths near you!” – Pedro Ferreira (VBD-GHTM)
- “Parasites that cause malaria: from diagnosing infection to analysing antifolate-resistant parasites” – Márcia Medeiros (IHC-GHTM)
- “Scientific collections of insects of biomedical interest” – Filipe Lopes (VBD-GHTM)
