Between April 11th and 12th, the city of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, received the mid-term conference of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA) Health Workforce Research section, titled “Investing in Healthcare Workforce Governance: Strengthening Equity, Inclusion, and Mental Health & Well-being”.
Tiago Correia, Professor at IHMT-NOVA, PPS-GHTM Researcher and Head of the WHO Collaborating Centre, engaged in policy dialogues alongside colleagues from the EUPHA, the WHO Regional Office for Europe, and the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. He was also honoured with an invitation to deliver the keynote speech at the event.
The Collaborating Centre serves as a hub of expertise in the development of policies and planning for human resources in health, mainly but not exclusively in Portugal, Europe and the PALOP countries, in line with the Global Strategy for Human Resources and the Workforce 2030. It was conceived to support the WHO in achieving quality healthcare by strengthening a workforce characterized for its availability and accessibility, providing acceptable and quality healthcare according to criteria of inclusion, respect and humanism.
