“New antimalarials: from drug discovery to clinical trials” is the title of the symposium organized by Marcelo U. Ferreira and Pedro Cravo, researchers from IHC- and VBD-GHTM respectively. The event will be held on 19th and 20th of December, from 12:00 am to 7:40 pm (Lisbon time), in hybrid format.
Developed under the cross-cutting issue Drug Discovery and Drug Resistance, this two-day international symposium will cover several aspects of antimalarial drug development and testing, including drug discovery strategies, drug resistance surveillance, pharmacogenomics, clinical trial design and implementation.
Students and post-doctoral fellows are invited to present their research projects and preliminary results as in-person short talks. All presentations will be in English.
The event will take place in-person at the Samuel Pessoa Auditorium, Department of Parasitology of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of São Paulo. Av. Prof. Lineu Prestes 1374, Cidade Universitária, São Paulo, Brazil, with financial support of the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP) and the Swedish Research Council.
