The authors give us an analysis of the Portuguese, Cape Verde and Brazilian primary healthcare system. They highlight aspects related to health right and its effectiveness assurance in primary healthcare systems and services organization. In addition, they focus their evolution, the main strategies used and remain challenges, those which need to be surpassed.
Moreover, the authors emphasize the importance of Alma-Ata meeting to the health family strategy and Portugal distinction, where the creation of family physician career had a significant impact. Furthermore, they also argue about the factors that had influence on the reform process and reorientation of health services.
