Visit at Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Songkhla, Thailand

The GHTM Coordinator, Prof Henrique Silveira and the Researcher Fatima Nogueira, visited Prof. Theerakamol Pengsakul, at the Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Songkhla, Thailand. During the visit several activities were made: 1) Informal meetings were held at the Office of Disease Prevention and Control Center and the Medical Laboratory Center on Disease Control,  Songkhla, Mueang Songkhla District, Songkhla Province Thailand; 2) a field trip for observation of Anopheles mosquitoes collection using cattle baited decoy trap at Thung Tam Sao Subdistrict, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province; and 3) Visit to Kabang Hospital, Kabang District, Yala Province Thailand. Several ideas and opportunities for collaborative research were discussed, and a collaborative program for malaria research involving mosquito and parasite is being developed.
