The use of GIS and geoepidemiology techniques for the investigation of vector – borne diseases, especially those related to Aedes aegypti, vector of dengue, yellow fever, zika and chikungunya, and the Lutzomya longipalpis vector of visceral leishmaniasis will be addressed. In addition, aspects related to the mapping of the occurrence of these diseases will be focused through the use of global and local empirical Bayesian rates; to the detection of spatial, spatial-temporal clusters to the spatial variation of temporal trends; to the study of the association between incidence rates and covariates (spatial regression); and the use of interpolation (kirgagem) to represent levels of vector infestation and identification of risk areas.
