In 2016/2017 Brazil faced the greatest yellow fever outbreak in the past 37 years, with more than 777 confirmed cases and 261 deaths in 407 Brazilian cities, located in the southeast and central states of the country. This GHTM session will present updated data on the YF epidemic and measures for its control.
Marcelo Simão Ferreira is full professor of parasitology and infectious diseases at the Federal University of Uberlândia, Brazil, and former President of the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
