He is an associate professor (MS-5) at the School of Nursing in Ribeirão Preto and a research productivity fellow at CNPq level 1C; associate editor of the Latin American Journal of Nursing, holds a master’s and doctorate degree in Public Health Nursing from EERP-USP, the latter with a sandwich period at Johns Hopkins University for the International Clinical Project, Operational and Health Systems Research in AIDS and Tuberculosis (ICOHRTA). He is President of the Interunit Doctoral Program in Nursing at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing and School of Nursing at USP (2019 now) and Vice-President of the Research Commission of EERP-USP (2018 present) and coordinator of Escola de Altos Studies of the CAPES program “Social Determinants and Equity in Health and Nursing” (2018-2019).
