Nilesh Bhatt | National Institute of Health (INS), Ministry of Health of Mozambique
Nilesh Bhatt is a medical researcher at the National Institute of Health (INS), Mozambique’s Ministry of Health. Since 2011, Dr. Bhatt is the Director General of the Polana Caniço Center for Research and Training in Health (CISPOC), an INS research center. Dr. Bhatt is an INS researcher since 2007, where he also held the post of head of the Department of Immunology (2009-2011).
Dr Bhatt qualified as a doctor at the Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique (1993-2000). He completed his Masters in Medicine (DST-HIV / AIDS) at the University of Sydney in Australia (2005-2006) and a Ph.D. in Health Sciences at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ) in Brazil (2009-2013) ). During his career, Dr. Bhatt has been leading clinical research in the area of HIV and tuberculosis, which is one of the key critical areas of public health in Mozambique. It has particular interest in the diagnostic and therapeutic area of HIV-1 and tuberculosis. Dr. Bhatt is the author of more than 15 publications in scientific journals. He is currently a member of INS’s Institutional Bioethics Committee and an associate professor at the Medical School of Eduardo Mondlane University, Mozambique.
