Elections are lasting and complex events. They can have a deep impact in society, both regarding their duration and intensity, which can be felt in many different areas. Within these, we can find the areas of health, research and development cooperation. However, it is not always the case that the main actors are aware of these, and this can have many consequences. This is precisely the subject of this session, namely to address how elections can impact the area of health and, particularly, in developing countries. Dialogue with professionals from these areas will be key, in order to improve comprehensive approaches, informed by these dynamics.
