“World Science Day: the excelence of research in Portugal”

November 23, 2022

“Science and tecnology: from all to all” is the motto of the event promoted by Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT) to celebrate the World Science Day. The event will be held tomorrow, 24 November, at Thalia Theatre, in Lisbon, starting at 2pm.

The opening of the session will feature interventions by the Prime Minister, António Costa; the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Elvira Fortunato; and the President of the FCT Board of Directors, Madalena Alves, will attend the oppening of the event. The President of the European Research Council (ERC), Maria Leptin, and the Minister of Economy and the Sea, António Costa Silva, will also participate in the session.

On the day that Portugal celebrates the Scientific Culture Nacional day, two new FCT funding programs will be presented – the ERC-Portugal Program and the RESTART Program – as well as the “Impact of Science on Economy and Society” Award, to be launched by FCT and the Strategy and Studies Office (Gabinete de Estratégia e Estudos, GEE).

The event also intents to present the ERC-PT projects to be financed, and to deliver the Arquivo.PT awards.

Learn more about the program of this session.

The event is free although  registration is required.
