Two GHTM-NOVA researchers among the 2021 most cited scientist worldwide (Top 2%) according to the Standford University Ranking published by Elsevier

October 28, 2022

The World’s Top 2% Scientists List, recently released by Standford University, in USA, includes the impact of scientific work in the last year and also throughout the career.

This ranking, considered the most prestigious in the world, is based on bibliometric information contained in Scopus, an international database of scientific articles, such as citations in different typologies, from newspapers to academic journals, and is also based on more accurate standardised citation metrics to reduce the misuse of self-citations. From the number of citations, then, we can assess the influence and consolidated impact of a particular researcher or institution on the progress of scientific knowledge.

A total of 76 researchers from NOVA University of Lisbon have their names in the lists of the world’s most cited scientists in various fields, from the exact sciences to the humanities. Two researchers from GHTM-IHMT are among the 2021 2% of the world’s leading scientists:

Miguel Viveiros (IHMT NOVA) and Carla Maia (IHMT NOVA)

GHTM-IHMT congratulates Miguel Viveiros (THOP-GHTM) and Carla Maia (VBD-GHTM) for this achievement and wishes them continued excellence.

The names of the 76 NOVA researchers who are now part of this list can be found on the website NOVA.
