“Ciência Viva no Laboratório” is an annual summer internship programme, which promotes the experimental teaching of science and foster the attraction of young people to scientific careers.
This year, between June 26th and September 1st, Portuguese students had the opportunity to improve their scientific knowledge through internships in Research Units and companies with R&D, contributing to decision-making in their professional future.
In the 27th edition, GHTM members contributed for this diversified programme with four internships, named:
- “Infectious Diseases and their vectors: come investigate and find out more about this relationship!” – Ana Tavares and Filipe Lopes (VBD-GHTM)
- “Helminths around us! Come and find the helminths near you!” – Pedro Ferreira (VBD-GHTM)
- “Parasites that cause malaria: visualization using optical microscopy, cultivation in human cells, analysis of the antimalarial activity of new or repositioned drugs” – Márcia Medeiros (IHC-GHTM), Pedro Cravo and Gustavo Cassiano (VBD-GHTM)
- “PSI Parasite Scene Investigation- Be a Researcher for a week” – Sofia Cortes (VBD-GHTM)
