Efflux studies integrated in a tuberculosis drug discovery program

Liliana Rodrigues | Mycobacterium Genetics Group, Department of Microbiology, Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of Zaragoza, and Aragon Agency for Research and Development (ARAID)

She holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences, specializing in Microbiology (IHMT / UNL). In 2011, she joined as a postdoctoral researcher at the Genetics Group of Mycobacteria (GGM) of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zaragoza. Since then she has been working on the GGM Mycosbacteria Resistance Molecular Bases research line, which mainly consists of the characterization of efflux pumps and other mechanisms of intrinsic resistance to drugs. Recently, the group began work on the discovery of new drugs against tuberculosis, in the European project More Medicines for Tuberculosis.
