He has Graduation in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1991) and PhD in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) from the University of São Paulo (1996). He is currently an adjunct professor at the State University of São Paulo Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), in the Department of Parasitology, Institute of Biosciences. He has experience in the area of Parasitology, with emphasis on Genetics of Populations, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, developing projects related to malaria, dengue and leishmaniasis, in Porto Velho (RO), Acrelândia (AC), Teresina (PI) and Bauru (SP).
