The Other Side of Data Management: join the 3rd Data Talk

September 21, 2026

The Working Group “Training and Skills for FAIR Data Management”, part of the Research Data Management Forum, has been actively engaging with the scientific community to support capacity-building strategies and the development of skills in research data management.

On 24 September, from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. (Lisbon time), the 3rd Data Talk of the year will take place online, featuring Rita Farinha, a research and innovation management professional and researcher at the Universidade de Coimbra. She is also a member of the Centre for Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Processes (CEMMPRE) and the Associated Laboratory for Advanced Production and Intelligent Systems (ARISE).

“Data Management: The Other Side”

Under the theme “Data Management: The Other Side”, the session will take the form of an informal conversation about research data management from the perspective of someone who is not a specialist in the field, but recognises its fundamental role in enhancing the quality, transparency and impact of scientific research.

The discussion will also address some of the challenges and barriers researchers face when implementing good data management practices, providing an opportunity for reflection and knowledge sharing on how to turn an increasingly important requirement into a useful and sustainable practice for scientific research.
