GHTM Sessions | Celebrating New Research Journeys

November 11, 2025

As part of the recruitment programme aimed at consolidating and reinforcing the GHTM Research Unit, GHTM|IHMT NOVA is launching a special November edition of the GHTM Sessions dedicated to celebrating the researchers who have recently signed new contracts — recognising their achievements, dedication, and growing scientific impact in Global Health.

These sessions continue to provide an open space for scientific sharing and the promotion of collaboration between GHTM researchers. This November programme is organised in a double-session format, where each date includes the presentations of two newly contracted researchers, fostering thematic complementarity and deeper scientific dialogue within the unit.

Throughout the month, we will learn more about the upcoming work that these researchers will be developing at GHTM:

  • 5 November – Sofia Santos Costa (THOP-GHTM) & José Pedro Gil (IHC-GHTM)
  • 12 November – Gustavo Cassiano (VBD-GHTM) & Sandra Antunes (VBD-GHTM)
  • 19 November – David Pires (THOP-GHTM) & Victor Pimentel (THOP-GHTM)
  • 26 November – Joana Marques (VBD-GHTM) & Sofia Seabra (PPS-GHTM)

Together, these projects reflect the scientific diversity, interdisciplinarity, and innovation that characterise GHTM, and represent an important step in strengthening our scientific community, research capacity, and future collaborative potential.

Join us, and be part of the conversations that shape the future of Global Health — and help us continue building a stronger, more connected, and more impactful GHTM.
