GHTM Session: Knowledge Management in the Digital Transition in Healthcare

February 26, 2025

📅 Date: 13 March 2025
🕒 Time: 11:00-13:00
📍 Location: ZOOM & Sala Cambournac | IHMT-NOVA

This session examines the intersection of knowledge management and digital transformation, highlighting the significant changes driven by emerging technologies and digitalization across various industries, with particular attention to the healthcare sector.

The session draws on insights from the book Knowledge Management and Digital Transition in Healthcare, published in December 2024. This work contributes significantly to the area of knowledge in healthcare by offering a detailed and multidisciplinary analysis of the trends and challenges of the digital transition. It provides a critical and practical analysis of knowledge management strategies and tools applied to the digital transition, presenting an overview of key challenges, opportunities, and developments in sectors such as healthcare, the pharmaceutical industry, and information technology.

The session features four presentations, each highlighting a chapter from the book. Each author presents their chapter in a 15-minute segment:

  • Renata Fagundes, Carla Silveira, Henrique Koch, Jorge Magalhães – Technological Management in Digital and Competitive Scenarios in Health: The Case of Immunosuppressants in Organ Transplants
  • Juliana Satie, Rosana Santos, Jorge Magalhães – The Role of Emerging Technologies in Improving Communication in Project Management: An Approach to the Digital Transition in the Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Adelaide Antunes, Alessandra Oliveira, Flávia Mendes, Rafael Santos, Suzanne Schumacher – Digital Revolution Applied to Health: An Overview of the World and Brazil
  • Karla Montenegro, Patrícia Braga, Carlos Gadelha. – Vulnerability 4.0: Digital Convergence and the Challenges for Expanding Access to Health

Emerging from the growing need to understand the impact of digital convergence on knowledge management in organizations, the book explores how technological innovation is reshaping business models and organizational practices. In an era where technology and organizational knowledge are closely connected—transforming how we work, communicate, and innovate—this session provides a timely opportunity to reflect on approaches to managing knowledge amid rapid digitalization.
