The European Researchers’ Night is promoted by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and takes place every year on the last Friday of September in hundreds of cities across Europe. The initiative aims to bring science closer to society, encouraging dialogue between researchers and citizens and highlighting the role of science and innovation in building a more sustainable future.
In 2026 and 2027, the event is part of the European project BRIDGES for Science: Engaging Researchers, Schools, and Citizens for a Sustainable Future in Europe, coordinated by ITQB NOVA. The project places particular emphasis on engaging younger generations and communities with more limited access to science, creating opportunities for meaningful interaction with researchers and scientific knowledge.
Through its participation in the European Researchers’ Night, IHMT NOVA and GHTM reinforce their commitment to science communication and public engagement, showcasing the diversity and relevance of research in hygiene, tropical medicine and global health.
Join IHMT NOVA and GHTM for an evening of science, discovery and knowledge sharing with our researchers!
