The researcher at the PPS-GHTM Research Group, Tiago Correia, has launched Tipo o Quê…, a new digital health communication project developed within the CCI – Information for Health Development (IHD). Launched on 15 September, the initiative aims to bring reliable, evidence-based health information closer to adolescents and young adults through accessible and engaging digital content.
Through accessible content, Tipo o Quê… seeks to promote health literacy and help young people critically assess the health information they encounter, particularly on social media. The project brings together science communication and public health research, creating opportunities to discuss health-related topics in a language and format that can reach younger audiences.
The first episode, dedicated to mental health, features Portuguese actress Sara Matos, who shares her perspective and personal experience in a conversation aimed at encouraging greater openness around mental health and well-being.
Mental health: support is available at IHMT NOVA
The launch of the first episode provides an opportunity to reinforce an important message within the GHTM | IHMT NOVA community: students and researchers do not have to face challenges affecting their mental health alone.
Mental health and well-being are part of an ongoing institutional commitment at IHMT NOVA. The Institute promotes initiatives aimed at strengthening emotional well-being, inclusion, academic integration and supportive relationships within its community. Among these are initiatives such as BANDUA, Mentoria à Mesa and Diálogos com Sentido, which address emotional well-being, self-regulation, peer support and strategies for dealing with academic and personal challenges.
For students and researchers at GHTM | IHMT NOVA, seeking support when facing emotional difficulties, stress, anxiety, academic pressure or other challenges is an important part of taking care of one’s health. The IHMT community is encouraged to seek information, talk to someone they trust and make use of the support and well-being initiatives available through the IHMT NOVA.
This commitment reflects the Institute’s broader understanding of health: promoting health also means creating an academic and research environment where people feel supported, included and able to ask for help when they need it.
