GHTM | IHMT NOVA researcher participates in IANPHI Europe Regional Network Meeting 2025

October 30, 2025

Maria do Rosário Oliveira Martins, IHMT NOVA‘s Deputy Director, participated in the IANPHI Europe Regional Network Meeting 2025. The meeting took place in Oslo, Norway, on 8–9 October and was themed “Sanity, Solidarity and Security: The active role of European NPHIs in times of uncertainty”.

Organised by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI), the meeting brought together directors and representatives of European National Public Health Institutes (NPHIs), IANPHI partners and invited experts, with the aim of strengthening institutional collaboration and discussing joint strategies for addressing public health challenges in times of uncertainty.

In addition to attending the event, the also researcher from PPS-GHTM Research Group contributed to the session ‘Global IANPHI Survey on NPHIs and its implications for collaboration between European NPHIs’, which focused on the outcomes of IANPHI’s global survey and opportunities to enhance cooperation among European NPHIs.

Following her recent appointment to the Executive Steering Committee of the “Strengthening the Role of NPHIs in Health Emergencies” project, her participation in the IANPHI Europe Regional Network Meeting 2025 further strengthens GHTM | IHMT NOVA’s commitment to international cooperation, global public health research and the institutional strengthening of public health systems, in line with its mission as a reference school in the Lusophone and European contexts.
