Epidemiological studies conducted in several countries of the world and in some African countries have shown that there is controversy in the relationship between asthma, atopy and helminthic infection.

This session will present the results of a cross-sectional study in 1023 children with 5 to 14 years-old living in the province of Bengo, Angola, conducted from September to November 2017. Asthma, rhinitis and eczema were defined based on ISAAC (International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood) methodology; Atopy was defined by positive skin prick tests and helminthic infection in the presence of helminths in the faeces.
