APIFARMA Hosts Conference on the Value of Vaccination During European Vaccination Week

April 22, 2026

The GHTM | Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (IHMT NOVA) is pleased to announce that APIFARMA will host the conference “Preparing the Future | The Value of Vaccination in Health” on April 28 at 9:00 AM, at the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB) in Lisbon.

This initiative takes place within the scope of the European Vaccination Week, under the theme “Innovating for more and better health”. It aims to foster a broad reflection on the role of vaccination as one of the fundamental pillars of public health and as a strategic investment in lifelong disease prevention.

A key highlight of the conference will be the presentation of the study “Perception of the Value of Vaccines 2025/2026”, which examines how vaccination is perceived by society. The study highlights its contribution to protecting health, preventing disease, and supporting the sustainability of healthcare systems.

Throughout the event, participants will also discuss the main challenges associated with vaccination, particularly its role as an essential preventive tool, a driver of health gains across the life course, and a critical factor in strengthening societal resilience to current and future public health challenges.

With this initiative, APIFARMA reaffirms its commitment to promoting innovation in health and to recognizing vaccination as one of the most effective public health interventions. The conference contributes to a more integrated, sustainable, and forward-looking approach to healthcare.

The full programme is available here, and registration is open.

The GHTM | IHMT NOVA supports initiatives of this nature and remains firmly committed to promoting vaccination as a cornerstone of public health, recognizing its essential role in disease prevention, health protection, and the strengthening of resilient healthcare systems.
