2nd Summer School on Antimicrobial and Biocide Resistance – last week of applications!

June 18, 2024

In the scope of the Portugal-Germany Bilateral Mobility Project 2022.15300.CBM, co-funded by FCT (Portugal) and DAAD (Germany), the “2ndSummer School on Antimicrobial and Biocide Resistance” will take place from 22nd – 26th of July 2024, in hybrid format (online or onsite in Lisbon, Portugal).

This second edition includes a theoretical component (online) and an optional practical component (presential).

The theoretical component will cover the following topics:

- Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in a One Health perspective

– Mechanisms of bacterial antimicrobial and biocide resistance

– AMR transfer and dissemination

– Efflux-mediated AMR

The practical component will focus on:

– Methodologies for evaluation of antimicrobial susceptibility

– Estimation of epidemiological cut-off (ECOFF) values to predict decreased susceptibility to biocides

– Isolation of genomic DNA for long-read sequencing

– Prediction of AMR by whole-genome sequencing data analysis

The deadline for application to the Summer School is 21st June 2024. If you haven’t registered yet, do it now!

The scientific programme is available here 2nd Summer School on Antimicrobial and Biocide Resistance.
