The European Researchers’ Night (ERN) is back! This vibrant cultural event celebrates scientific discovery and brings together scientists and the public for an evening of engaging and enlightening activities. Held annually on the last Friday of September across numerous European cities, the ERN offers hundreds of free activities designed to spark curiosity and foster a love for science.
GHTM & IHMT-NOVA at Marina de Oeiras
We’re excited to announce that the GHTM & IHMT-NOVA will be participating at Marina de Oeiras on September 27, from 16:00 to 22:00. This is one of the several locations across Portugal hosting the event, featuring contributions from dozens of esteemed institutions. The Oeiras event is part of a national initiative coordinated by ITQB NOVA, i3S and Ciência Viva.

A Night of Inclusion and Exploration
Organized by ITQB NOVA in partnership with the Municipality of Oeiras, this event brings together a diverse array of activities to make science accessible and exciting. This year’s theme is inclusion, emphasizing the voices of underrepresented groups and the pivotal role of society and schools in scientific research.
About the European Researchers’ Night
Since its inception in 2005, the European Researchers’ Night has illuminated the streets of over 300 cities across Europe every last Friday of September. Funded by the European Commission’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, this initiative demystifies the world of research and brings scientists closer to the public. Portugal extends this celebration to nine locations nationwide through the project EU-EMBRACES – “Empowering Minds: Boosting Research in Citizen Engagement and Schools”.
